July 4, 2008: Independence Day 2008 Ceremony in Darien, Georgia
The City of Darien invites the public to an Independence Day flag-raising ceremony on Friday, July 4th at 9:00 a.m. in front of the City Hall, 106 Washington Street, in Darien. A flag that was flown over U.S. Military Camp Cedar II in An Nasiriyah, Iraq, in honor of Darien and its Mayor Kelly Spratt, will be raised to honor the brave men and women who have kept our nation free for the last 232 years.

July 5, 2008: Churn - Off !! Ice Cream Contest
Get Your Recipes Ready!
Bring your churn and your special ingredients and Ashantilly will provide the ice! The MCA Band will perform. Prizes will be awarded for the best ice cream. Beverages and baked goodies will be available.
